Dr. Walter E. Jacobson

Mentor, Advisor, Co-Host of The Best Ever You Show

Walter E. Jacobson, MD, psychiatrist, therapist, spiritual advisor, Mastery of Life Mentor, author and speaker, motivates audiences to break free from self-limiting concepts and negative behaviors getting in the way of their happiness and success.   He is the author of Forgive to Win, which helps people achieve the success, happiness, and physical well-being that has eluded them despite all the self-help techniques they have tried.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Pre-Med. After graduating from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1977, he took an 18-year hiatus from medicine. During that time he engaged in an odyssey of self-discovery and creative self-expression, which included publishing the Tucson Times (an entertainment and arts weekly), writing screenplays, performing stand-up comedy, producing Poor Walter’s Almanac (a weekly satiric social-political commentary TV show on cable access), and appearing four times on the ROSEANNE TV series. Following his return to medicine in 1995, he graduated from the UCLA / San Fernando Valley Psychiatry Residency Program, became a Board-Certified Psychiatrist, and has been in private practice in the Los Angeles area since 1999.

Dr. Jacobson's training at the UCLA / San Fernando Valley Psychiatry Residency Program provided him with a wealth of skills. Their psychopharmacology program enabled him to assess and treat biological and chemical imbalances that contribute to anxiety, depression and other psychiatric disorders.
Their psychotherapy program taught him a variety of therapeutic techniques, including dynamic insight-oriented therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, short-term therapy, interpersonal therapy, couples therapy and family systems therapy, many of which he integrates into his treatment approach once he formulates a client’s problems, weaknesses and strengths.

One of his unique therapeutic skills involves Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, which he learned by taking courses offered by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). Another unique therapeutic option that he offers clients is Past Life Regression Therapy which he learned from Brian Weiss, MD, a psychiatrist and expert in the field of Past Life Regression.

Dr. Jacobson is also a motivational, self-empowerment speaker, guiding people towards the fulfillment of their goals and dreams.
