Discover How to Be Your Best
Featuring You! Meet Jill Thomas
by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino on September 25th, 2013

Tell us about yourself.
I was the fat kid that became the fat adult and I could never seem to lose the weight.  Finally at 220 pounds I figured out how to lose weight using the power of my mind and have been my most healthy weight ever since.
How did you get to be where you are today?
Lots of time, patience and a whole lot of “If at first you don’t succeed…there’s always more ways to try again”.

How do you help others be their best?
I help them recognize and connect with their own inner power so that they can make the changes they want to make more easily than they thought possible.
How do you help yourself be the best you can be?
By connecting inside to my own inner strengths, acknowledging my true feelings about things and owning my inner power to change and create.

 Have you ever been fired?
Yes, a couple of times for arguing with the boss about how to make things better.  Don’t most entrepreneurs get their start because they want to do what they do better?

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
I would love to open a weight loss clinic that focuses less on the food and more on the emotional issues that keep us overweight.
Please give us one or two shameless plugs.
My Book of course: ) I wrote Feed Your Real Hunger; Getting Off the Emotional Treadmill That Keeps You Overweight to give people tools they could use to be successful at creating the body and life they want.  I also would like readers to know about my business Healthy Habits Hypnosis, I am a gifted hypnotherapist and love helping people achieve their goals.

What is your favorite book to recommend to someone else to read.
Bridget Jones’s Diary  (the book not the movie) I think of it a bit like a diet book, though I know it’s not.  Part of the story really illustrates the ridiculousness of many woman’s weight loss journey and the stupidity of worrying about a few pounds.

What are some of your favorites? (books, websites, etc..)
I really love the book Salt, Sugar, Fat
Seth Godin’s blog http://sethgodin.typepad.com

Share a secret ;)
During the process of writing my weight loss book, I gained 10 pounds.  I lost it pretty quickly after the whole emotional journey of writing the book was done but I do find it very ironic.
